Day 1 – Brandenburg and Reichstag

  • Brandenburg Gate and Pariser Platz
  • Reichstag dome (book ahead)
Morning Brandenburg Gate and Holocaust Memorial. Reichstag dome (free; book in advance). Afternoon Tiergarten or Unter den Linden. Evening Mitte for dinner.
Tips:

Reichstag: book online weeks ahead. ID required. Free and worth it.

Day 2 – Museum Island

  • Pergamon or Neues Museum
  • Berlin Cathedral
Full morning on Museum Island (Pergamon, Neues, or Bode). Berlin Cathedral climb. Afternoon Hackescher Markt and courtyards. Evening in Prenzlauer Berg.
Tips:

Museum Island: day pass or pick one or two. Pergamon partially closed for renovation; check.

Day 3 – Wall and East Berlin

  • East Side Gallery
  • Checkpoint Charlie and Topography of Terror
Morning East Side Gallery (open-air Wall art). Checkpoint Charlie (museum optional). Topography of Terror. Afternoon Kreuzberg or Friedrichshain. Evening nightlife or dinner.
Tips:

East Side Gallery: free; go early. Comfortable shoes for walking.

Day 4 – Charlottenburg or departure

  • Charlottenburg Palace or last museum
  • Transfer to BER or TXL
Charlottenburg Palace or last neighbourhood. Transfer to airport. BER: 45 min by train from centre.
Tips:

BER is main airport. Allow time for check-in and security.
