Day 1 – Duomo and Uffizi

  • Duomo and climb or Baptistry
  • Uffizi Gallery
Morning Duomo complex (cathedral, climb dome or Giotto's bell tower; book ahead). Afternoon Uffizi (book ahead; allow 3 hours). Evening Ponte Vecchio and Oltrarno.
Tips:

Book Duomo climb and Uffizi online. Duomo climb: 463 steps; no lift.

Day 2 – David and markets

  • Accademia (David)
  • San Lorenzo Market and Mercato Centrale
Morning Accademia for David (book ahead). San Lorenzo Market (leather, souvenirs) and Mercato Centrale for lunch. Afternoon Santa Croce or Palazzo Pitti. Evening piazza and gelato.
Tips:

Accademia: book in advance. Small museum; David is the star. Mercato Centrale: upstairs food hall great for lunch.

Day 3 – Fiesole or Pisa and departure

  • Fiesole views or quick Pisa trip
  • Last gelato and transfer
Half-day Fiesole (bus from Florence; views and Roman theatre) or train to Pisa for the Tower. Return and transfer to Florence airport or train station.
Tips:

FLR airport: 20 min by tram from centre. Trains to Rome/Milan from Santa Maria Novella.
